Back to index / Volver al sumarioThis trophy was played in 2000 for the first time as a challenge between the British Isles and Continental Europe and with a similar system to that of the Ryder Cup. It was named after Severiano Ballesteros, Spanish 5-time Grand Slam winner who also led Europe as captain to victory in Ryder Cup ´97 (and Continental Europe in the first edition of his own trophy).
Este torneo disputó su primera edición en el año 2000 y es un reto entre las Islas Británicas y el resto de Europa con un sistema de competición similar al de la Ryder Cup. Se bautizó en homenaje a Severiano Ballesteros, ganador de 5 torneos de Grand Slam y capitan ganador con la selección europea en la Ryder ´97 (y con la Europa continental en la primera edición de su propio trofeo).
